 Refuse & Recycling Facts

Recycling
Newspapers, Magazines & Other Paper:
Must be tied, bundled or taped-placed in bin

Cardboard:
Flattened, tied - NOT BAGGED
NO PLASTIC COATED CARDBOARD ACCEPTED

Glass – Clear, Green, Brown:
Rinsed out, NO lids, NO broken glass
Separate colors – place in bins
DO NOT BAG

Cans – Aluminum, Steel & Bi-Metallic:
Rinsed out – Place in bin
DO NOT BAG
Refuse
THE FOLLOWING ITEMS MAY BE PLACED AT THE CURB AS GARBAGE:
Hard cover books
Plastic coated milk cartons
Plastic light bulbs
Florescent bulbs (please mark bags)
Paint cans (paint must be dried & hard)

Larger items (examples below) carry a $5.00 per item charge to be paid prior to pick-up.

Televisions
Couch/chair/mattress/box springs
Wooden & metal furniture
Toilet/small tub
Carpeting (cut in 4’ sections, bundled & tied)
Swing sets (torn apart, bundled & tied)
Scrap wood (cut in 4’ lengths, bundled & tied)
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED AT CURB AS GARBAGE:
Tires/Motor Oil/Car Batteries
Hazardous Waste (Not even empty red bags)
Liquid Paint
Construction Material
Snowmobiles/Motorcycles
Liquid Grease
Propane Tanks
Anything weighing over 40 pounds

The City has the right to refuse any items placed at the curb that are not in compliance with these regulations!
White Goods Pickups
Stoves/Dishwashers/Washers/Dryers
Trash Compactors/Hot Water Tanks

***Refrigerators/Freezers/Air Conditioners MUST BE FREON FREE

$10.00 fee for all white goods pick ups apply prior to pick up.

Yard Waste
Yard Waste picked up weekly on the day after your regular garbage day. The leaf machine will also follow this schedule.

CITY OF BRADFORD ORDINANCE NO. 2801 STATES THAT REFUSE SHOULD NOT BE PLACED AT THE CURB BEFORE 5:00 P.M. ON THE DAY PRIOR TO SCHEDULED PICK UP.

RECYCLING IS MANDATORY IN THE CITY OF BRADFORD!
